Wood carving is one of the core activities at the project. Sserewanga Ben learnt to develop his skills in carving at the project and now he uses the place as his workshop. Here he practises his art, and also teaches other people voluntarily.
He carves using materials found in the local area including both soft and hard woods. His work includes animals, figurines, knots and found art. The wood and treatment materials he uses are completely organic. Ben relies on money from his work to support his wife and baby girl.
